UPDATED September 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Calling At does — and doesn't do — with your data. Calling At is a departure-board app for Great Britain's railway. It does not require an account and does not sell train tickets.
Location
If you grant location permission, Calling At uses your device's location on the device itself to work out which stations are near you and offer them as suggestions. Your precise location is not sent to or stored on our servers, and it is not shared with any third party. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings — the app works fully without it, using search instead.
Favourites and recent stations
Stations you favourite, and stations you've recently viewed, are stored locally on your device so they load instantly next time. This information is not uploaded to our servers.
Live departure data
When you open a station board, the app requests live departure information for that station from our backend, which in turn draws on UK rail industry timetable and live-running data. These requests identify the station you're viewing, not you personally. Our servers keep the standard technical logs any web service keeps (such as timestamps and IP address) briefly, for security and reliability — we do not build user profiles from them.
What we don't do
- We don't require you to create an account.
- We don't run third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We don't sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
Future features
If Calling At later adds features such as push notifications, in-app purchases, or crash/diagnostic reporting, this policy will be updated in advance to describe exactly what those features collect and why, before they collect anything.
Children
Calling At is a general-audience travel utility and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
